History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again."

Services

Be it therapy, counseling, or coaching, our fundamental orientation is experiential which means that, unlike more traditional approaches that focus primarily on talking, we help you actually have new and profound experiences that enable you to truly resolve core issues, move forward unencumbered, and, ultimately, live your best life.

Our integrative approach is informed by cutting-edge findings in the field of psychology which allows us to provide you the most up-to-date and effective care. In our commitment to offer you the best possible service, we continue to refine our skills by consulting and training with other experts in our field. You can be assured that we will do our best to guide you to the most appropriate service and intervention to best meet your needs.

Here are some of the services we are proud to offer at the Center for Courageous Living:

Psychotherapy and Counseling:

Our compassionate approach to therapy/counseling, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is affirming, empathic, and engaging. Throughout therapy we work closely with you to feel safe, and to find and develop the courage to do the emotional work needed to change and heal. We actively participate in your therapy collaborating with you to identify and overcome obstacles to growth and help you on your journey to realize your true potential. While your history is important, and will likely be addressed, our focus is more on the here-and-now. Together we identify what is happening that gets in your way, and help you break free from old patterns to do things differently. We'll help you discover, make use of, and develop the healing resources and strengths you inherently possess. Our aim is to help you move forward in your life feeling more alive, vital and more deeply connected to yourself, others, and the world around you. If you'd like, you can read more about AEDP. For scheduling/fees/payment, see below.

EMDR:

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective, information-processing therapy tool. EMDR allows you to reprocess traumatic and disturbing events, memories, thoughts and feelings so that they are no longer experienced as distressing. At times it may significantly shorten the length of treatment. When appropriate, we integrate EMDR into our work. You can learn more about EMDR. For scheduling/fees/payment, see below.

Coaching:

Having trouble creating or fulfilling your life vision? Wishing you could achieve more in your life but can’t figure out how to make that happen? Coaching can help you figure out and take the steps necessary to make your personal, life, business or career dreams a reality. As psychologists we incorporate powerful tools into our coaching sessions that not only help you to realize the personal and professional goals you’ve established, but also help you clear away any personal obstacles that may be thwarting your progress.

Training/Supervision:

We enjoy providing supervision/consultation to fellow clinicians interested in learning and developing skills in experiential, emotion-oriented psychotherapy and are passionate about teaching state-of-the-art therapeutic approaches that help people truly change and heal. We offer: 1) Individual Supervision (both in person and telephonically), 2) Group Supervision, as well as 3) Intensive Core Training groups in AEDP. Individual supervision can be done using verbal case presentation, but the use of videotaped clinical material is recommended and preferred. For more information please contact us at: info@cfcliving.com.

We are Blue Cross/Blue Shield providers and also work with several other insurance plans to coordinate payment. If you are planning on using insurance other than BCBS, you should contact your insurance company and inquire about your mental health "out-of-network benefits". We can supply you with a statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Our fees are due upfront.
